Some photos from Halloween.

This year we had a death warrior (?), a fairy and Black Panther, of course. The kids had their annual dry ice bath (which can't be good for them but is so much fun - thanks Jeff!) and trick or treat with cake for Josh's birthday.

Fall Day, 2018!

Twas annual Family Fall Day so we put on our brave faces and fourteen layers of clothing and headed to the pumpkin patch. We never time this right so we are always either sweating or freezing when we do this each year. 2018 proved to be the latter. That was the coldest hay ride of my life.

Hot cider and motivational speeches got us through. "We're having so much FUN, right guys?!"

 these folks are troop-ers.

Then it was home for mulled cider, homemade donuts and pumpkin carving. (Or painting if you're Ever). Oren managed to get three adults to carve his pumpkins for him and Marisa slayed hers as always. We ended the day with bowls of chicken noodle soup and "it's the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown" so I'd call that a success all in all.

 Happy fall, y'all!

Apple Picking

And now for our annual apple picking photos! Josh was out of town so Abby and Jeff came along for the fun this year. We went during peak Honeycrisp season only to find out they won't let you pick your own. We settled for Cortlands instead. Many apples were picked and eaten in the process. A few even made it home. Pics below!

 this child, I swear...

A Tea Party

Patty's birthday gift this year was an afternoon tea party at the Macaron Tea Room , although, to be honest, I think it turned out to be more about Ever than Patty once we arrived. It's the sweetest place to take little ones. They had the cutest "nursery tea" service for kids which had pb&j and ham & cheese sandwiches and macarons covered in sprinkles. They had a dress up corner with hats and crowns and jewelry and at the end of the meal, a paintable cookie. We had the best time! Some photos below to remember the day.

Weston Silas turns TEN!

I'm here to catch up on my long neglected blog and thought I'd start with the three day long birthday celebration we threw for our newly minted ten year old! The day before his birthday we took the kids, Weston's friend Micah, Abby and Jeff up to WaterWorld in Erie PA. We'd gone the year before and Wes loved it so much that he asked to go again this year instead of a birthday party at home. We kicked it off with lunch at Sara's and then hit the water slides and the wave pool!

The next day was Wes's actual birthday and the last day of summer vacation for the boys. I took the day off work and told Wes we'd spend it however he wanted. So out to breakfast we went and then to Sky Zone for the afternoon. That night Abby came over and we celebrated our boy with pizza and a pumpkin pie!

And for the birthday grand finale, the very next day we gave Wes his birthday gift -- tickets to see HAMILTON! He loves the soundtrack so much and was SO excited. So it was one more dinner out, a custom ice cream sandwich and the best show we'd even seen.

I hope this was a birthday he will never forget, but more than that I hope he knows just how very loved and treasured he is.

TEN YEARS my sweet boy. I can hardly believe it.
